Its is June 12th. I just came back from the Andrew Young YMCA. This is the first time I’ve been in the pool in 3 months to the day.
I didn’t go to the pool today to train for something. I got in the pool today because a teammate of mine suggested I should get back in for the feeling of water. I did feel like I was missing something…
Spring is the season of rebirth and renewal. So I’ve been refocusing my attention on breathing, meditation and spiritual practices. These tools have been helpful in recentering myself.
In a time of a global pandemic, social and civil unrest, it’s more important that ever to have tools to recenter oneself. This has allowed me to refocus on what is important in life.
So I got in pool and I swam 3,400 yards. No plan. While in the flow, I understood what was missing. Swimming is my centering and rebalancing practice. I am grateful for swimming and it’s return in my life.
