The 2023 Grown Up Swimming (GUS) season is officially in the books.
I started with no focus on any specific event or times. This made it easier to have fun and grow team participation.
My masters team had 13 swimmers this season and an average of 6-8 per meet. A big improvement from just me last year! Two meets got rained out, but the season ended with two great combined league meets. Yesterday at the championship, our team placed 12th out of 18 teams.
We got new swimmers to experience the simple fun of summer league swimming. I decided to swim my high school events this summer:
50 freestyle
100IM
50 Butterfly
I am happy with the results this summer. I relearned that to swim fast you have to train fast. I also desired to get my 100IM time under a minute.
